Anti-Nucleosome

It was proposed that the nucleosome is the principal antigen in the pathophysiology of SLE, and that anti-nucleosome (anti-NCS) antibodies are associated with organ damage. Nucleosomes have been shown to be more strongly immunogenic than native DNA or histones and induce a strong T-helper cell response.
