NUK Nasal Aspirator

How does a Nasal Aspirator work?

Aspirators are specially designed to gently and effectively aspiration your baby’s nasal secretions. But how does the little helper work? Pressing the bellows creates a slight negative pressure so that the disturbing mucus in the nose is sucked into the nasal aspirator when the patient releases slowly. The cap should be attached to one of the nostrils, but not inserted to avoid damage. The next nostril can be closed for more effective removal. The application does not require any medication and helps your child to reduce anxiety after just a few moments.

Nasal Aspirator work?

Conventional rhinitis is the most common disease in young children and is often underestimated. Infant nasal cavities are still very small and narrow, they clog faster than in adults. Because babies still cannot breathe through the mouth, a busy nose can cause toddlers to have trouble breathing. They then refuse to eat or have trouble sleeping. In the first months of life, babies in particular breathe exclusively through the nose.

To be able to use the hood for as long as possible, here are some tips for using it:

The baby should be in a stable position during use. To soothe the baby, a favorite plush or a toy creates distraction. The baby may need a moment to get used to the situation. This time should be given to him. The nasal aspirator should NOT be rinsed with hot water or with an antibacterial cleaning solution after each use. For complete disinfection, simply do NOT use the evaporator or boil for about 5 minutes in a pot of sufficient water.
