Tachipirina 500mg 

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as stated in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor and / or pharmacist. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Adults

The recommended dose is 1 tablet, to be repeated if necessary after 4 hours, without exceeding 6 tablet per day. In case of severe pain or high fever, 2 tablet of Tachipirina 500, to be repeated, if necessary, after not less than 4 hours. In adults, the maximum oral dose is 3000 mg paracetamol per day.

Dissolve the sachet in a glass of water.

Duration of treatment

Do not use Tachipirine for more than 3 consecutive days without consulting your doctor. The doctor should assess the need for treatment for more than 3 consecutive days.

Tachipirina in pregnancy

If you are pregnant, breast-feeding or planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Although studies performed with paracetamol during pregnancy and lactation have not shown any particular contraindications to the use of paracetamol, nor have they caused any side effects on the mother or baby, it is recommended that you take this medicine only in cases of real need and under direct medical supervision.

Save

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. Expiration date refers to the last day of this month.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If you / your child experience the following side effects, stop taking this medicine immediately and contact your doctor immediately: Allergic reactions to:

Redness of the skin accompanied by itching (urticaria)

Swelling of the throat (edema of the larynx)

Swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, tongue and / or throat (angioedema)

Severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock)

Other Medications and Tachipirina

Paracetamol may interact with other medications. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines.

Medications that slow the emptying of the stomach (eg anticholinergics, opioids), delay the effect of Tachipirina

Medications which accelerate gastric emptying (eg prokinetics) accelerate the effect of Tachipirina;

Cholestyramine (a drug used to lower blood cholesterol levels) reduces the effect of paracetamol

Chloramphenicol (antibiotic) may increase the risk of side effects

Anticoagulants

Rifampicin (antibiotic);

Cimetidine (medicine used to treat stomach ulcers);

Antiepileptics (medicines to treat epilepsy), such as glutetimide, phenobarbital, carbamazepine;

Zidovudine (medicine for the treatment of HIV).

The use of these medications with Tachipirin requires strict medical supervision.
